Joe Wilson, 76 of Waleska, died at 6:12 P.M. Thursday, July 09, 2009 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
He was born August 27, 1932 the son of the late Verner Lee Wilson and the late Mary (Sosbee) Wilson. He is survived by Ellen Wilson (spouse) of Waleska, GA, Mike Wilson (son) of Carnesville, GA, Steve Wilson (son) of Carnesville, GA, David Wilson (son) of Carnesville, GA, Greg Wilson (son) of Toccoa, GA, Darrell Coffey (son) of Waleska, GA, Paul Coffey (son) of Cartersville, GA, Barbara Jackson (daughter) of Stephens, GA, Carol Coffey (daughter) of Waleska, GA, John Wilson (brother) of Carnesville, GA, Wayne Wilson (brother) of Toccoa, GA, Sarah Babsom (sister) of Greer, SC, Virginia Kesler (sister) of Tocooa, GA, Patsy Macomson (sister) of Augusta, GA, and Kathryn Wallace (sister) of Society Hill, SC.
He served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of SFC T. 1954
Funeral services will be held July 12, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Darby Huey Funeral Home Chapel in Canton, Georgia. Burial will be at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, July 12, 2009. Visitation will be held at on Sunday from 11 AM - Funeral Hour
