John Joseph Forkin, age 80, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Northside Hospital Cherokee.

John was born on February 3, 1946, in Manhattan, New York, to the late John and Grace Forkin. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, a commitment that reflected his strength, discipline, and love for his nation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Forkin; his children, James Forkin of Canton, Georgia, John Edward Forkin of New York, New York, Bridget Forkin of Canton, Georgia, and Kimberly Moncada of Canton, Georgia; and his cherished grandchildren, Rachael Moncada, Ramon Moncada, and Rose Moncada.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, located at 490 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, Georgia 30188.

A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery on Friday, February 6, 2026.

John will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
