John Grogan, called Jack by friends and associates, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at the age of 69.
He was born on Nov. 26th, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY, one of three children of John Joseph Grogan and Marion Durkin. He is preceded in death by his loving spouse Rosemarie Grace La Bella. Jack is survived by a younger sister Patricia Vasquez, nephews Angel Vasquez, and Frank Dawson, and nieces Erin Dawson and Alyssa Vasquez. His extended family includes sister-in-law JoAnn & husband Ted, their children, nephew Justin Gregory (wife Holly), nieces Lauren Marie and Kathryn Anne and sister-in-law Georgianna La Bella Saracco and husband John.
Jack graduated from Aviation High School in Brooklyn, NY and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. Jack was a career executive in the graphics arts industry. Highly respected in the industry, he earned several accolades and recognition for his dedication and ability. Jack was a Director of National Accounts for both Anitec and International Paper.
Jack had a passion for tennis and golf and will be remembered fondly by his teammates and friends in ALTA. Having served on the Wexford Board of Directors Jack was a popular and respected member of his community.
The funeral services will be at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 535 Rucker Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30004 at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 29, 2016. A reception will follow the mass in the Parish Hall at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and all are welcome to attend. From the reception, burial will be at Georgia National Cemetery on Monday February 29, 2016 at 2:30 PM. Visitation will be held at the Darby Funeral Home in Canton, GA on both Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
