John C. Young Sr. of Canton, GA passed away Monday July 31,2023 at his daughter and son-in-law home where he has resided for the last 7 years. He had formerly lived in Punxsutawney, Pa and Mahaffey, PA.

Mr. Young was born on June 5, 1933 in Mahaffey PA a son to the late Bruce and Lina(Passmore) Young.
John had been an electrician for Benjamin Coal Company. He also was a former PA Game Warden for Clearfield County. He coached the Mahaffey Little League Baseball team who won the championship in 1981. From 1952 to 1956 he was stationed at Moody Airforce Base in Valdosta GA where he was a fire fighter. He loved spending time with his family. John's hobbies were hunting, fishing, woodworking and watching WWE Wrestling.

He is survived by two daughters Angie Taylor husband Rick of Canton ga, Teresa Capozzoli of Delta Pa, one son John C. Young jr. (Barbie Rhodes) of Dubois PA, one brother Bruce Young and wife Jolene of Orange Park, Fl; four grandchildren, Pamela Hannawell, A.J. Capozzoli, Cory Allessie and Dylan Young, two great-grandchildren, Matthew Capozzoli, Kyra Capozzoli and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris (Delk) Young, brothers; Wendel young, Reed Young and Franklin Young, one sister Carolyn Phillips.

Interment will be private.
