Mrs. Joleen Beasley Kyle, 88 transitioned peacefully into heaven on May 1, 2023, surrounded by love, light, song, and family.
Joleen Ann was welcomed to this life on September 28, 1934 in Welch (Superior) WV, the middle child (of 5) to the late Darcy and Sylvia Beasley of Hillsville, VA.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Joe David Kyle Sr; her Brothers (and Sisters in Law) Odell Beasley (Alva) and Boyd Beasley (Gail).
Joleen loved her family and the wonderful memories of growing up on the family farm in Virginia, where she graduated from Hillsville High School in 1951. She was an Accounting graduate of West Virginia Business College, where she proudly served as May Queen. The Harmon Lumber Company promptly hired her as Bookkeeper upon graduation. She met the love of her life on a blind double date and married him on June 28, 1958. Joleen and Joe lived in Roanoke VA, Wilmington DE, Johnson City TN, and Canton, GA but spent most of their years happily raising their children, David and Diane, in Greensboro, NC. They were very active in the Episcopal and Anglican churches where Joleen enjoyed serving on the Altar Guild, and participating in many committees. They are a part of the founding families of Resurrection Anglican Church in Woodstock, GA.
Joleen retired from the Travelers Insurance Company in the early 90's and accompanied Joe on his mission work in low income housing ministry. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a former Girl Scout troop leader, Quota Club, and a member of the Appalachian Trail Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her son, Joe David Kyle Jr (Rebekah Stewart) of Jacksonville FL, daughter Diane Kyle Tattersall of Canton GA, and grandchildren Jordan Tattersall of Atlanta GA, Kirby Tattersall of Wilmington NC, and Christine Tattersall of Canton GA, her sisters Thelma Beasley Pippin (and the late Kenneth Pippin) of Glen Burnie MD, and Carol Beasley Martin (Robert) of Dublin VA.
Her sparkling personality and infectious smile will be deeply missed.
