Obituary

Jose Edward "Eddie" Flores, age 94, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2026, at Ross Memorial Health Care Center in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Born on September 18, 1931, in Los Angeles, California, Eddie was the son of the late Luis Flores and Demetria Garcia Flores. He lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to his family, quiet strength, and a deep sense of duty.

Eddie proudly served his country first in the United States Marine Corps and later in the United States Army. Though he spoke of his military service infrequently, those who knew him understood how much pride he carried in having served his nation. He could often be found wearing his United States Marine Corps veteran hat, a quiet but unmistakable symbol of the pride he held in his service, and one he wore until the very end.

In Eddie’s youth he enjoyed restoring and showing classic cars as a member of the Road Kings in Wilmington, California. His adult years were spent as an entrepreneur, founding and operating several businesses, before transitioning to a career in real estate. Eddie also kept busy making home improvements, using his talents to create a comfortable and beautiful home for his family.

Above all, Eddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 74 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Rose Flores. Together they built a family that remained the center of his life and greatest source of joy. Having lived much of his life and raising his children in California, he later moved to Georgia to be closer to family. Eddie was immensely proud of his family and took great satisfaction in their accomplishments, milestones, and happiness. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his family grow through the generations.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Adam Eisenberg; and his siblings, Pablito Flores, Eloisa Flores Soliz, and Carlos Flores. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rose Flores of Canton, Georgia; his daughters, Melinda (Loren) Hauser of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Melodie Flores Eisenberg of Decatur, Georgia; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Hauser, Everett Hauser, David Eisenberg, Ian Eisenberg, and Max (Mackenzie) Eisenberg; and his treasured great-grandson, Edward Jackson "Jack-Jack" Eisenberg.

Eddie will be remembered for his quiet resilience, unwavering love for his family, and the example he set through a life of dedication, service, and perseverance. He was deeply proud of the family he and Rose created together, and his love for them was evident in countless ways throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
