Joseph Michael Pepe, age 83 of Jacksonville, FL passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Mr. Pepe was born in Kearny, NJ and moved to Miami, FL in the late 1940's, but made his permanent home in Jacksonville in the 1970's with his late wife, Linda Beecher Pepe.
He spent 26 years in the United States Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant and served two combat missions during Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the military, he successfully established two custom home construction businesses called JoPep Homes and Meridian Construction. Joe served on the Northeast Florida Home Builders Association both as President and member as well as serving as the President of the Jacksonville Planning Commission.
Survivors include his daughter, Christina Anne Clayton of Woodstock, GA; his son-in-law, Roy Wayne Clayton of Woodstock, GA; his two grandchildren Abigail Elizabeth and Walker Joseph Clayton of Woodstock, GA; and his two nephews Ralph Lamar Shaw Jr. and Michael Frazier Shaw of Jacksonville, FL.
Graveside service and interment with military honors will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Jacksonville National Cemetery
