Joseph V. Richards, AKA Daddy's Doggies, born December 13, 1919 in Yonkers, NY, age 95 of Canton, GA passed away Wednesday October 7, 2015 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held at 8:30AM Monday October 12, 2015 from the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Father Victor Reyes officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at 10:00AM in the Georgia National Cemetery. SGT. Richards fought in the Philipines during WWII earning the American Defense Service Medal, American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Philipines Liberation Ribbon w/ Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He is survived by his wife; Erna Richards, Canton, GA, sons; Wayne (Sally) Richards, Cumming, GA, James (Susan) Richards, Canton, GA, John (Diane) Richards, Pleasant Valley, NY, daughters; Joanne Richards, Salem, NY, Barbara (Paul) Hosford, Canton, GA, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
