Judge William F. "Frank" Gramling, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 12, 2010. Judge Gramling was a resident of Canton for 75 years, recently relocating to Cumming. He was a graduate of Canton High School and attended the University of Georgia and Georgia State University. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and active in civic organizations such as the Lions Club and Optimist Club.  He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict . Judge Gramling was the first Chief Magistrate of Cherokee County and served in that role for more than 30 years.Judge Gramling was the Republican Elected to office in Cherokee County .  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bonnie Sosebee Gramling; daughter Allison Gramling Bishop her husband Chuck Bishop and granddaughter Rebecca. He is also survived by his brothers and their families: Cecil and Iola S. Gramling, Wilford and Brenda Gramling and Leon Gramling; sisters-in-law Jean Gramling and Reatha McConnell; brother-in-law Lawton Sosebee and brother and sister-in-law Arter and Ozell S. Watkins. Many other relatives also survive. The family will receive friends at Darby Huey Funeral Home from 2pm till 7pm on Monday, February 15 and Tuesday, February 16. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2pm at Hopewell Baptist Church on Ridge Road in Canton. With the remains Placed in state from 1:30 PM until funeral Hour. Interment will be at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Cumming, immediately following the funeral. Darby-Huey Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
