Kathleen Esther Doto, 75, of Canton, GA, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024.
Born in 1949 in Woburn, MA, to Esther and William Carroll, Kathy was a talented artist with a lifelong passion for painting, knitting, and creating. From a young age, she showcased her creativity by designing and making her own clothing. A graduate of Woburn High School, Kathy built a successful career at the MITRE Corporation in Bedford, MA, where she worked for several decades.
After retiring from MITRE, Kathy devoted her time to volunteer work with Angels Among Us, where she helped transport and host rescue dogs and ultimately adopted two beloved dogs from the organization.
Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Doto. She is survived by her children, Melanie (and Robert) Giddings of Marietta, GA; James (and Liz) Doto of Cumming, GA; and Jennifer Doto of Canton, GA; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Darren and Kamryn (Kami) Lausier, and J.J. and Julianna Doto.
She is also survived by her brothers, William (Bill) Carroll (and Deb) of Exeter, NH, and Thomas (Tom) Carroll of Medford, MA; and her sisters, who were her best friends: Anne (and John) Faulkner of Concord, NH; Elizabeth (Beth, and Tim) McAvoy of Epsom, NH; and Margaret (Peggy, and James) Orsillo of Woburn, MA. Kathy is also lovingly remembered by her best friend, Diana Brink, and special family friend, Diane Lausier. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Kenneth P. Lausier, who remained a beloved member of her family.
Kathy leaves behind dear cousins, many special nieces, nephews, friends, and former coworkers who will deeply miss her warmth, artistry, and kindness.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at a later date in Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to Wellstar Community Hospice: https://foundation.wellstar.org/give-now/ .
