Kathy Jo Cagle Ross, age 76 of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026. She was born on January 12, 1950, and lived a life devoted to family, faith, and the children she lovingly taught throughout her life.

Known lovingly to generations of children and families as “Mrs. Kathy,” she owned and operated Happy Face Preschool for more than 25 years. Through her patience, kindness, and loving guidance, she taught and nurtured hundreds of three- and four-year-olds, leaving a lasting impact on countless families. Her warm smile and gentle spirit made her a cherished teacher and friend to all who knew her.

Kathy also found joy in the kitchen and was well known for sharing her cooking, homemade meals, and beautifully made cakes with family, friends, and neighbors. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she expressed love through every dish she prepared and every child she taught.

Kathy was a devoted wife, loving sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ken Ross; her sister, Dianne Westbrook (Gary); and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Sara Jane Cagle.

Mrs. Kathy will be remembered for her caring heart, her unwavering love for children, and the joy and encouragement she brought to so many lives. Her legacy lives on in the many young hearts and minds she helped shape over the years.

Family and friends will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.

Funeral Services in honor and celebration of Mrs. Kathy's life will be held in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
