Hamming, Kay Marie (Johnson), age 81, formerly of Mason, MI, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019. She was born in Hillsdale, MI November 22, 1937. Kay was a graduate of Coruna High School class of 1956. She attended Albion College and Michigan State University. She retired from a long and distinguished career working for The Supreme Court of Michigan, Court of Appeals.
Kay enjoyed painting, making jewelry, thrift store shopping, and spending summers at their cottage in Northern Michigan. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Earl Johnson and Luetta (Pearce) Hoppe. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Percy Hamming, and their three children, Douglas of Mason, MI; Deborah (Daniel) Baird of Woodstock, GA; Scott (Shari) Hamming of Alpharetta, GA; and grandchildren Lucas and Tanner Baird, Sydney and Parke Hamming, and Sarah (Joe) Hardy of Traverse City, MI, and their three children, Paige, Liberty, and Courtney.
A memorial service will be held this summer in Lansing, MI.
