Keith Michael Duckwitz's Obituary

Keith Michael Duckwitz, 57 passed away May 30, 2012 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, GA.

He was born June 22, 1954 in Alexandria, VA.  He is survived by his wife, Sherrie of Port Orange, FL, daughter, Samantha Richardson, husband Shane and granddaughter, Taylor Grace of Macon, GA; 2 sons: Brennan M. Duckwitz, wife, Ashley, granddaughter, Alyssa and grandson, Ayden of Woodstock, GA; Burton Stacey III, wife, Danielle, grandsons, Alexander and Cody of Columbus, GA; his mother, Joanne Davis Prass of Myrtle Beach, SC.  He was predeceased by brothers, Kirk P. Duckwitz and Ronald E. Woods of Myrtle Beach, SC in January 2012.

Keith was a quiet, gentle man loved by many. As a young man he learned to make jewelry along with his mother and two brothers at the Gay Dolphin and Barefoot Traders in Myrtle Beach, SC. In his professional career, Keith worked as a Director for multiple companies in the Wireless Communications Industry. He owned several businesses with his partner, brother-in-law and long time friend Cliff Padgett. He was a loving husband and a devoted father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by all that had the pleasure of ever meeting him. Additional survivors include; special sisters and brothers: Paul and Margo Prass of Perth, Australia; Christine Logan & Tommy of Conway, SC, Robin Holley & Alan Orgeron of Murrells Inlet, SC, Jeannine Stokes & David of Canton, GA, Cynthia Rosier & Dan of Edgewater, FL, Joann & Larry Laney of Crawford, AL, Linda & Cliff Padgett of Ruskin, FL, Richard & Bonita Burch of Madison, AL, Robert & Reba Burch of Lilburn, GA, Ronald & Lisa Burch of Crestview, FL, Gray & Lynn Adams of Tampa, FL, Cokie Work of VA, Jeff Wallenhoupt of NC, Curt Middlebrooks of Gulf Breeze, FL, Joe Farrow of Ocala, FL and Thom Adams of AL. Keith was known as Pop or Papa to many and a mentor to most. A real father figure to those in need. The family will hold a memorial service at their home at 2492 E. Cherokee Drive, Woodstock, GA on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The Rev. DeAnna Fountain-Breeden, M.Div will be officiating.
