Keith Dwayne Nicholas, age 77 of Canton, GA passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Services will be held in Georgia national Cemetery with Air Force Honors on Friday, April 16th at 2:30pm. He is survived by his wife of 47 years; Pamela Nicholas, Canton, GA, children; Sheri L. (Jeff) Hedgecock, Blake A. (Deana) Nicholas, Robert G. ( Vicki) Bolin and Kellie B. (Chris) Harper and 2 grandchildren; Alyssa Bailey and Logan Harper.
Keith was born on October 21, 1943 and raised in Arkansas and Cedar Vale, Kansas on a cattle ranch. After college, he joined the United States Air Force serving from 1964 until his retirement in 1986 as Senior Master SGT. He served in Thailand from 1970- 1971 and 1973- 1974, Okinawa in 1972, The Phillippines in 1977- 1979 and Korea from 1980- 1984. He worked on the weapons systems for the Interceptor F-106 fighter jet, the Ultimate Fighter interceptor for the Air Force, he also was the Quality control inspector for air planes in the Pacific, Infra red system AC-130 gunship, IR, LLTV and an instructor on LLTV and IR and RF4C Laser designator on the F-43 Lightning fighter jet. After retiring from the Air Force he moved to Austin, Texas for several years. For his second retirement, he moved to Greenville, Texas going back to his roots to raise cattle on a 640 acre ranch. He and Pamela moved to Canton in 2017. He was very active with the VFW wherever he lived and loved to play golf with his friends.
