Mrs. Kelcie Burgess, age 90 of Canton, GA, passed away on January 20, 2015 at Canton Nursing Center. Visitation will take place Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Darby Funeral Home, from 6-10 PM, and Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 10AM-10PM. The funeral service will be on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2PM at the Darby Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Loyed Burgess, Reverend C.W. Burgess, and Reverend Dean Ghorley will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. She is survived by daughters Geneva Burgess, Freida Burgess, Wylene Burgess, and Brenda Burgess, all of Canton, GA; brother Winston Newton of Ellijay, GA; brother Grady Newton of Resaca, GA; sister Ethel Henderson of Ellijay, GA, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burgess was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Grady Burgess. The family requests that food is not to be brought to the funeral home.
