Kenneth David Huff, passed away Monday, August 19th at his residence. He was 70 years old.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00AM Monday August 26, 2024 from the chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00PM - 6:00PM Sunday August 25th and 9:00AM until the funeral hour on Monday. Interment will be in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, GA. Deacon James Gibson will officiate.
Ken was born March 7th 1954 in Elkhart, Indiana. He obtained his bachelors degree from Purdue University in Biomedical engineering. Ken served two years in the marine corp from 1974-1976 in officer candidate training.
He used his engineering skills with Hewlett-Packard at the North American response center in Atlanta Georgia. He was a subject matter expert, and a great mentor to new team members. His photographic memory and ability to recite part numbers were valued by his coworkers. He excelled in his role for over 40 years through company splits and mergers. He retired to his dream home in North Georgia to pursue his hobbies.
Ken was an avid hiker and traveler. He loved the national park system, sparked by his eagle scout activities as a youth. He lived for the mountains and shared this with his family. His favorite place was the Smoky Mountains and taking his kids on the Appalachian trail. He was a huge fan of his three sons sporting activities and events. He got involved as a youth soccer coach, USA swimming official, and was their biggest fan. He showed great pride in his children and their acomplishments. He had a knowledge and presence felt by friends and family. Ken loved to walk his neighborhood, chasing his step goal, and greeting neighbors as he went.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold L. Huff and Virginia Mae Bauer, brother James L. Huff, brother Allan D. Huff, and sister Vickie Sue Huff Dietz.
Ken is survived by his wife of 47 years Diana M. Huff and sons Eric A. Huff (Zrinka) of Cleveland OH, Brian L. Huff (Louisa) of Madison AL and Joel C. Huff (Stephanie) of Las Vegas NV. As a great man, He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
