Lamar Lloyd Murdock, age 84, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia.

Born on May 27, 1942, in Milan, Georgia, Lamar lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and those he loved. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Murdock, and two sisters.

Lamar leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever, including his daughters, Tina Muse of Acworth, Georgia, and Denise Byram of Acworth, Georgia; his grandchildren, Daniel (Erin) Reece, Spencer (Kyle) Byram, Ashley (Cameron) Gregory, and Taylor (Seth) Kirk; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Tony Murdock of Victorville, California.

Lamar was proud to have served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. His service was a source of great pride throughout his life, and he carried that sense of duty and honor with him in all that he did.

He will be remembered for his strength, devotion to his family, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A graveside service with military honors, in appreciation for Lamar's faithful service to his country, will be held at Georgia National Cemetery, located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr., Canton, Georgia 30114, on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

The family invites all who knew and loved Lamar to keep his memory alive through acts of kindness, service, and love.
