Lawson Christopher
Bailey
Jan 16, 1975 — Aug 11, 2026
Canton, Georgia
Lawson Christopher Bailey was born on January 16, 1975, and passed away on August 11, 2026, at the
age of 51. His life was a beautiful example of what it means to lead with love, serve with a willing heart,
and find humor in everyday life. Lawson was born in Macon, GA, but lived most of his childhood in
Marietta, GA, where he graduated from Lassiter High School in 1993. He was an active member of the
Lassiter High School band program under Dr. Alfred Watkins, and a major highlight was competing at the
Bands of America Grand Nationals.
Lawson began his Chick-fil-A career as a teenager working for Operator Scott Reed at the Sprayberry
Square location in Marietta, which is where he met his wife, Michelle. He went on to work for
Operator Jason Bilotti at the Northside Parkway location in Atlanta. In 1999, Lawson became the
Operator of Sandy Springs FSR, and in 2024 he became a multi-unit Operator with the addition
of Perimeter at Hammond Drive FSR.
Lawson was a devoted follower of Christ, leading with love in everything he did. From serving as “the
baby whisperer” in the nursery at church on Sundays to traveling to Niger, Africa and Alaska for mission
work, Lawson had a servant’s heart and truly found joy in helping others.
Born and raised in Georgia, Lawson was a proud Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons fan, but everyone
knew the one team that held a very special place in his heart—the Georgia Bulldogs. He loved his Dawgs
and was always ready to cheer them on.
His greatest joy was his family. Lawson is survived by his wife of 27 years, Michelle, and their three sons,
Lawson Jr. (Tori), Lukas and Liam. He loved them deeply and was incredibly proud to be their husband
and dad. Lawson loved supporting his boys as a band and guard dad and had a gift for making things
happen behind the scenes. He is also survived by his father, William Monroe Bailey, Jr, sister Lesley
(Ryan) Hendrix, and his and Michelle’s five nephews and two nieces, as well as countless beloved
friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. at Revolution Church, 125 Union Hill
Trail, Canton, GA. The family asks that guests wear red and black or Georgia Bulldogs gear in honor of
Lawson's favorite team. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to WYGO ministries through Zelle
at 678-773-8373 (preferred method) or Venmo @WYGO_min.
