Obituary

Lebaron "Barry" Carnes, 74, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. Born on November 21,1951, in Canton, Georgia, Barry spent his life in the community he loved.

Barry was a proud Army veteran and later retired from the Cobb County Water Department after many years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rene Carnes; his children, Allison Irwin (Shawn), Jeff Hester (Kim), and Kelly Hester; and his brother, Stacey Carnes. Barry was a proud grandfather to Olivia Stiglich (Cameron), Luke Irwin (Keegan), Landon Irwin, Brooke Hester, and Brady Hester (Courtney), and he was also blessed with two great-grandchildren.

Barry loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed bass fishing whenever he could. He was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Tech, and NASCAR. His sense of humor, loyalty, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.

Barry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A memorial service in honor and celebration of Barry's life will take place at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home following Saturday's visitation. Chris Collett will officiate.
