Leonard John Galati, 89, of Cartersville died, March 6, 2017.
He was born in New York City on November 24, 1927, son of the late Josephine and Peter Galati, served in the U.S. Navy 1945 – 1949 and established residence in Georgia in 1950. After graduating from Georgia Tech in 1954 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering he worked for Delta Air Lines, Southern Airways, and retired from Lockheed-Georgia in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Galati of Decatur, Georgia; survived by his children, Mark Galati, Cindi Black, and Jill Kasonovitch; grandchildren Corinne Kersh, Rachel Allison, and Philip Kasonovitch and by his great grandchildren, Sophia Kersh, Layla Kersh, and Olivia Kersh.
He was cremated. There will be a memorial service at Darby Funeral Home, Canton, Ga on March 15, 2017 at 12:30 with internment at Georgia National Cemetery immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Red Cross.
