Lewis Wiltz “Lew” Farlow
Lewis “Lew” Farlow, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him on July 9, 2026.
Born on April 10, 1936, to Wiltz and Annie Farlow, Lew lived a life marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, a strong work ethic, and a lifelong love of music.
Lew proudly served as a Yeoman in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958, followed by two years in the United States Navy Reserve. After his military service, he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Valdosta State University and went on to build a career in the Manufactured Home Industry, where he was known for his charisma and ability to build lasting relationships.
While his career provided for his family, music was one of the great passions of his life. An accomplished guitarist, pianist, and performer, Lew spent decades sharing his love of music with others. He was always surrounded by people, often the life of the party, bringing joy and contagious laughter wherever he went. His contributions to the music community were recognized in October 2022 when he was inducted into the Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame, a fitting tribute to a lifetime devoted to preserving and performing the music he loved.
Above all, Lew treasured his family. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Paula Ann Farlow and children: Cal Farlow; Caitlin Josey (Ricky Josey) and their daughter, Salem; Randee Farlow; Tal Farlow (Robin Farlow); Nicole Farlow; Kip Farlow (April Farlow) and their daughters, Maria, Lauren, Lydia, and Anne Marie; and Ada Nicole Gonser and her children Raegan and Jesup Gonser.
A graveside service with Navy Honors will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday July 14, 2026 in the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30114.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Lydia’s Place, a non-profit started by Lew’s daughter-in-law (www.lydias-place.com) or to any veteran organization.
Lew will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his faithful service, his enduring love of music, and the legacy of love he leaves with his family and friends.
