Mrs. Lillie Mae (Lil) Holmes Trask, 89, passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 after a long period of failing health.  Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 29th,  at the Darby Funeral Home chapel, Canton, GA, at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends at 1:00 p.m.  Survivors include daughter, Jane Trask Price of Marietta, son, Bill Trask and his wife, Catherine, of Jacksonville, FL, grandson, Jason Trask of Rome, close cousins:  Alice Petty Baker of Chattanooga and her husband, John Petty and his wife of Decatur, and many extended family members.  Lil was born in Yazoo City, MS and raised by her aunt and uncle, Mary and Thaddeus Petty.  Lil and her husband, Jack, who pre-deceased her, spent many years in Atlanta, where they raised their family.  Later, they retired to Canton to live on their farm.  Lil was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  She was a great friend to many and spent many hours doing volunteer work in the community.  We will miss her kindness, warmth and generosity.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a favorite charity or Canton First United Methodist Church or the Center for the Visually Impaired, Atlanta, GA.
