Lucia "Lucy" D'Amato Maturo of Canton, GA, formally of New Haven, CT, entered into eternal rest on November 25, 2019. She was 96 years old.
Born in New Haven on November 28, 1922 to the late Dominic and Josephine DiCosmo D'Amato. She is rejoined in heaven with her husband Joseph Maturo and her late daughter Lee Grillo. Also predeceased by her siblings Raffaella Moniello, Amelia DeRosa, Jean Antezzo, Fred Damon, John D'Amato, Salvatore D'Amato and Cosmo D'Amato. Lucy is survived by her sister Mary Ercolano of Hamden, CT and her brother Dominic D'Amato of Cheshire, CT. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Cathy (Gene) D'Andrea of Woodstock, GA and Louis Grillo of Wallingford, CT, her Great-Grandsons Matthew D'Andrea of Woodstock, GA and CPL Tyler D'Andrea of Cherry Point, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Lucy always made time for her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining. Anyone that stopped by to say hello would leave after a full course meal. Besides cooking, Lucy enjoyed singing and playing the piano but mostly spending time with Matt and Tyler.
Special thanks to Canton Nursing Center who took wonderful care of her, listened to all of her stories with enthusiasm and enjoyed her Christmas serenades all year round.
