Marie Phelps, age 79 of Ball Ground, passed away on February 16, 2018 at her residence. Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Darby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Mr. Pete Castillo and Rev. Johnny Chastain will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Survivors include husband Carl Phelps; son Kenny & Lisa Phelps of Canton, GA; son Marty & Cathy Phelps of Canton, GA; son Steven & Debbie Phelps of FL; son Carl Jr. & Johnna Phelps of Ball Ground, GA; brothers Bobby Shelton of Canton, Johnny Shelton of Canton, Garry Shelton of Canton, and Randy Shelton of Canton; sisters Jewell Pugh of MS and Tammy Miller of SC; 7 grandchildren: Tyler Phelps, Whitney Oliver, Lauren McElvey, Austin Phelps, Kyle Phelps, Cody Phelps, and Shonna Lanier; 4 great-grandchildren: Owen Oliver, John Will Oliver, Aron McElvey, and Marley Lanier. She was preceded in death by brother Gene Shelton, and parents Harry & Edna Shelton. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the Phelps Family.
