Mary Elizabeth Davis passed away on June 17, 2023, at her home in Canton, Georgia. She was born in 1931 in Hartwell, Georgia as the only child to Ruth Adams Jackson and Dr. Thomas J. Jackson. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a master's degree in Speech Pathology. She retired from teaching and began a second twenty-year career as a Realtor in Cherokee County.
She married Walton C Davis, Jr. in 1968. They were happily married for 54 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walton, her son Carey Louis, and her daughter Julia Ruth.
Survivors include her Son, Walt (Linda) of Commerce Georgia, and two Granddaughters, Beth Davis of Atlanta Georgia, and Carly Hill (Zak) of Lynchburg Virginia.
In addition to her successful career in real estate she was an active member in several civic organizations in Canton. She and her late husband were founding members of St. Clement's Episcopal Church in 1973 and she served in several leadership roles within the church.
She loved gardening and her beautifully landscaped backyard will live on as a testament to her sense of taste for plants and landscaping.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 2nd at 10am at St. Clements Episcopal Church, 2795 Ridge Road, Canton, GA. 30114.
Her internment will be sometime in the future at Nancy Hart Memorial Park Cemetery in Hartwell, Georgia.
