Mary Michelle Dement, 52, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Michelle was a cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and community touched all who knew her. Born and raised in Georgia, Mary Michelle lived a life filled with love, compassion, and strength.

She is survived by her loving husband, Randy Dement of Jasper, Georgia; her son, Fitz Dement of Atlanta, Georgia; her daughter, Angel ( Casey) Ridings of Jasper, Georgia; her brothers, Bobby Felt Pierce Jr. of Murphy, North Carolina and Eddie William Pierce of Jasper, Georgia; and her sister, Alice Jane Hamilton of Jasper, Georgia. Michelle will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her and will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Darby Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services in honor and celebration of Michelle's life will be held in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jim McRae officiating. She will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., with the funeral procession departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.

Michelle's memory will forever be treasured by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to share in her life.
