Obituary

Mary Nell White (Cloud), 80, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on June 26, 2026, at Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 9, 1945, in Canton, Georgia, Nell was the daughter of the late Dee Cloud and Enon Cloud. A lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she devoted her life to her family and faith, touching countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.

Nell was the heart of her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit and steadfast faith served as a source of strength and comfort to all who knew her. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was especially excited and eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great-great-grandchild.

Nell never let anyone leave her home hungry. If you walked through her door, she was sure to offer you something to eat and make you feel welcomed and loved. She loved cheering on the Atlanta Braves, watching Jeopardy, playing Scrabble, and challenging herself with The New York Times crossword puzzles. She cherished time spent with family and created countless memories that will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her children Keith White, Kim Donnelly (Travis), Kelly Voyles White (Scot), Karmen Carder, Robbie White, and grandchildren; Josh White (Ashley), Nick White (Alexandria), Levi White, Terra Richards (Kevin), Tiffani Donnelly (Matt), Lacy Warren, Brandon Voyles, Tucker White, Kevin White, 17 great-grandchildren, and her brother, Bob Cloud of Cumming, Georgia, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Nell was preceded in death by those loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.

Though our hearts are broken by this sudden loss, we find peace and comfort in knowing that she did not suffer and this is not goodbye forever. Nell’s legacy of faith, love, compassion, and devotion to family will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.

The family requests continued prayers during this difficult time as they celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman deeply loved.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Smith Cemetery, also know as Orange Cemetery, located just off Highway 20 near Highway 372 in the Free Home Community.

The caring Staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Mary Nell White.
