MARY LOUISE ROACH
Mary Louise Roach was born July 9, 1927, the only child of Elda Ledbetter Jones and W. C. Jones. She attended Ball Ground Elementary School, Canton High School, and went on to graduate from the University of Georgia. She taught Business at Canton High School. Louise married Thomas Anderson "Andy" Roach on August 25, 1948.
Louise was an active member of Ball Ground Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Canton. She participated in and led numerous church activities, taught Sunday School, and was especially involved in the Women's Missionary Union (WMU), the Girl's Auxiliary (G.A.'s), and other missionary programs.
She enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, playing the piano, making photograph albums, and more than anything else, she enjoyed her family. Andy and Louise raised a family of three children, nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren, with one more due January 15, 2015.
Being a mother and raising a family was the greatest joy in her life, and anyone who knew her could see that. She was the perfect hostess at family gatherings; always making sure everyone else was fed before she took a bite.
She was an honest, caring, loving, patient, and nurturing mother and wife. We were all blessed to be a part of her amazing life.
Louise is survived by her husband of sixty six years, Andy Roach, and her three children, Cathy Lacy, Christie Geiger, and Tom Roach. Louise is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Wendy Booth, Holly Hubbard, Jon Lacy, Katie Davis, Jamie Geiger, Casey Geiger, Caroline Geiger, Abby Roach, Sarah Beth Roach and her ten great grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mary Louise Roach will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Darby Funeral Home Chapel. Louise will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Veterans Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.
