Mrs. Mary G. Sparks, age 88, of Canton, GA,  passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2010  at the Canton Nursing Center. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, February 14, 2010 from the Chapel of the Darby Huey Funeral Home at  with  Rev. Floyd Tenney, Rev. Ed Towers Rev. Tommy Lockhart officiating. Interment will be in the Reinhardt Chapel Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Saturday 3 PM – 6 PM.
Mrs. Sparks was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John  T. Sparks Sr. She was originally from Waleska, GA and graduated from Reinhardt College.  She was former president of Canton Service League, Canton PTA and performed many other civic duties.  She was an active and longtime member of Canton First United Methodist Church.  Survivors include Son and Daughter-in-Law,  John & Charlotte Sparks, Ball Ground, GA;  Daughter and Son-in-law,  Lynne & Joe Parker, Marietta, GA;  Grandchildren, Meredith & Jackson Woodson,  Daphne, AL;  Nathan & Beth Parker,  Kennesaw, GA;  & Katie Sparks, Ball Ground, GA.  Family requests,  in lieu of flowers,  donations be made to Canton First United Methodist Church;  930 Lower Scott  Mill Road;  Canton, GA  30114.  The caring staff of Darby Huey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  darbyfuneralhome.com
