Mary "Kathy" Windon, 61, of Canton, GA, passed away July 12, 2022.

She was born to the late Kermit and Jane Johnson, April 8, 1961, in Memphis, TN. Kathy graduated from Madison County High School in 1979 and received a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi in 1983.

She married the love of her life, Jim Windon on October 11, 1991 and they lived a beautiful, full, and happy marriage for 31 years. Kathy is survived by one daughter, Melissa Windon, of Lenexa, KS. Kathy was the best wife and mother anyone could have ever hoped for and had a heart of gold. She also had many friends and was a well-loved southern lady. Her kind spirit and love for Memphis, her pets, Ole Miss, her husband and daughter always shined bright. Kathy loved entertaining family and friends in her home and was an exceptional decorator and host. She leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11am at the Oliver Funeral Home in Winona, MS. The burial will take place immediately following at the Oakwood cemetery in Winona, MS. A celebration of life to be held in Canton, GA will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people make donations to the Cherokee County Humane Society in Canton, GA
