In Loving Memory of Mavis Louvenia Bledsoe Jennings
September 7, 1939 – May 13, 2025

Mavis Louvenia Bledsoe Jennings, age 85, of Canton, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest on May 13, 2025.

Born on September 7, 1939, in LaFayette, Alabama, Mavis was the cherished daughter of Clera Holloway Bledsoe and Dallas Bledsoe. In 1964, she married the love of her life, Harvey Jennings, and together they shared a life rooted in faith, love, and family. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Louvenia Jennings, who remained the light of Mavis's life.

Mavis was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family—especially her beloved grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil. She shared a special bond with her daughter Louvenia, and their shopping trips and time together were treasured memories.

A faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Nelson, Georgia, Mavis found strength and fellowship within her church family. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Louvenia Jennings of Canton, GA; her sisters Annie Doris "Dot" Austin (Dillard) of Canton, GA, and Brucie Roberts (Joseph) of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Nicholas Brevard (Claire) of Woodstock, GA, Kobe Brevard of Woodstock, GA, and Sherrick Brevard; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Brevard, Achara Brevard, and a great-grandson on the way.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Darby Funeral Home. Minister Dr. Kristie Roberts-Lewis will officiate.

Mavis Jennings will be remembered for her love, her faith, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind in her family. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
