Michael Jerry Nelson, age 75 of Ellijay, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21st from 10am-12pm. The funeral will be at 12pm in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery at 2pm. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta. He is survived by:

Brother - Kenny Nelson of Bunker Hill, IL.
Sister - Janet Wood of Weldon Spring, MO.
Grandchildren - Bailey and Kailey Cox
Brother-In-Law - Edward Cooper of Rockford, IL.
Brother-In-Law - Claude Cooper of Wood River, IL.
