Nola Jane Lawson, age 87, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Nola was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She lived a life rooted in faith, love, and dedication to her family. Her warm spirit, kind heart, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bryan Lawson; her parents, John Henry and Cora Grizzle; and her siblings, Delo Grizzle, Ella Dunn, Beulah Jones, Lizzie Lingerfelt, Mattie Jones, and Fannie Atkins.

Nola leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her daughters, Judy (Marty) Stansel of Canton, Georgia, and Kathy (Wayne) Byers of Canton, Georgia; her grandchildren, Martin (Shelbi) Stansel, Dylan Byers, Jason King (Shawna Padgett), and Joshua Stansel; her great-grandchildren, Colton Stansel, Addison Stansel, Daxton King, and Haleigh Jones; her great-great-grandchild, Lacey Dover; her brother, Frank Grizzle of McCaysville, Georgia; and her sister, Nora (Mark) Strobe of Dahlonega, Georgia; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Stansel and Rev. Keith Estes officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

Nola's legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
