Olga P. Mannella, a nine year resident of Canton, Georgia died on March 3, 2009 following a brief illness. She is survived by John, her beloved husband of sixty one years, daughter Gina Marie and sons John N. And James M. Daughter Elizabeth (Lisa) predeceased her in 2001.Olga was born on March 27, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Italian immigrant parents Nicolas and Rosa Frattaroli. She was a graduate of Girls High School, and subsequently joined her parents to assist in operating the family's restaurant, "La Fralta's" until her marriage to John in 1948.
Olga and John loved food, art, music, and travel, but above all, they were dedicated to the cause of improving the care and education of the Down Syndrome child.
They worked tirelessly for many years to raise public awareness and in private fundraising at a time when few people were even aware of the gifts of this special group of God's children.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the "Family Fund" Canton 1st United Methodist Church, 930 Lower Scott Mill Road, Canton, Georgia 30115. This fund provides assistance to families in our community who are in temporary need of financial assistance to purchase food, pay household bills, or help with other pressing needs.
