Patricia Minjares Thayer, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at her residence in Canton, GA. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Patricia's vibrant spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born to Miguel A. Minjares and Frances Pichardo, Patricia spent her life embodying kindness and joy, which she shared generously with family and friends. An avid Pickleball enthusiast, Patricia found great joy in her friendships at Soleil, where she was known for her warm smile and camaraderie on and off the court.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Peter Arthur Thayer of Canton, GA; beloved daughter, Heather Elisabeth (Tommy) Culligan of Tampa, FL step son, Jason (Ashley) Thayer of Suwanee, GA; brothers David Minjares of San Jose, CA, and Tony (Margie) Minjares of Tulare, CA; sisters Gloria Minjares and Norma (Paul) Yasinitsky, both of Willets, CA; and her grandchildren, Aubrey and Andrew Thayer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel A. Minjares and Francis Pichardo, as well as her brother, Miguel S. Minjares.
The family invites friends to join in celebrating Patricia's life at a visitation on Tuesday, November 5, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Darby Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 10:30 a.m. in the Darby Funeral Home chapel. Patricia will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. The comittall service at Georgia National Cemetery is private. Reverend Jeremy Isaacs will officiate.
