Tricia Tripp of Canton, Ga., formerly of Marietta, died Saturday of complications from peritoneal mesothelioma. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Tom, brother David McAllister of Tuscaloosa, Ala., sons Matt (Carolyn) of Marietta and Jason of Thomaston, daughter Jennifer (Todd) Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, and grandchildren Kaitlyn and Tyler Johnson and Emma Tripp. She is predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Imogene McAllister, and daughter Katie.

Tricia was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and grew up in Huntsville, Ala. She married her high school sweetheart Tom and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, following her aunt into the field. A registered nurse for 42 years, she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, first at UAB and finally retiring from Northside Hospital Atlanta in 2019. Her heart for the sick was passed on to her sons, daughter and daughter-in-law who all work in healthcare.

The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home, Canton, Ga., on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be at Canton First Baptist on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Cliff Pace officiating.
