Philip Ray Pluris, age 84, of Canton, GA passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. Memorial services are scheduled for Monday, January 21 at 2PM at the Darby Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at 12 Noon-2PM before the memorial service. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greenwood, IN.
Mr. Pluris was born on May 4, 1928 in Connersville, IN. He graduated from George Washington H.S. in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1947 and later graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Business in 1953. He worked as an Industrial Engineer at Eli Lilly & Co. for 32 years. He retired to Florida in 1992 and in 2009 he and his wife, Jeanette, moved to Georgia.
Mr. Pluris is survived by his wife, Jeanette C. Pluris of Canton; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Michael & Sandy Pluris of Woodstock; Daughter, Cheryl Fridley of Woodstock. He was pre-deceased by his Daughter, Cynthia Pluris, age 19, in 1980. Mr. Pluris was the loving Grandfather of 3 grandchildren, Kristin, Stephanie, and Cindy Fridley
