Ralph Mason Mitchell, Jr.
June 15, 1938 – February 4, 2025

Ralph Mason Mitchell, Jr. passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity. Born on June 15, 1938, in Atlanta, GA, to Myrtis Herndon Mitchell and Ralph Mitchell, Sr., Ralph lived a life filled with faith, family, and cherished pastimes.

A man of many passions, Ralph found joy on the golf course, at classic car shows, and most of all, in the company of his beloved family. He lived by the principles of loving and trusting the Lord, respecting others, forgiving quickly, and embodying honesty and trustworthiness in all he did.

Those who knew Ralph would describe him in three simple but profound words: funny, loving, and giving. His humor could light up a room, his love knew no bounds, and his giving spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Ralph is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Carole Berry Mitchell of Canton, GA; his children Carole Carlene Jordan (Bruce) of Marietta, GA, Belinda Darlene Futch (Darrell) of Hinesville, GA, Viva June Powers (Randy) of Jefferson, GA, Barbara Rae Bare (Mike) of Canton, GA, Susan Lynn Peppers of Fayetteville, GA, and David Michael Mitchell. He also leaves behind his brother Hollis Ray Mitchell of Locust Grove, GA, his sister Nellie Hinch (Louis) of Colonial Heights, VA, and an incredible legacy of 44 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mark Peppers.

A celebration of Ralph's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home, with visitation on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, GA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 10, 2025. Reverend Cliff Pace will officiate.

Ralph's kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
