Donald Ray McCollum, Jr. was born in Levelland, Texas on May 9, 1960 and died on March 21, 2013. He and his wife resided a short time in Waleska, Georgia after moving from Danielsville, Georgia where he and his family lived 18 years. He grew up in Oklahoma. He was honorably discharged from the army in 1989 where he served as a medic. He was a poultry plant shift manager for 21 years until retiring in 2011. He was hard working and lived for his family. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara, and three sons: Justin Shanken, Brandon McCollum, and Derek McCollum. He had one grandchild, Josephine (and another on the way, Cohen). He is also survived by his sisters, Deana Williams, Sherry Nelson, and Melissa Tiger; Brother Kerry McCollum all of Oklahoma. There will be a Celebration of Life Service to honor Donald on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 2pm, from the Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia.
