Ray N. Terrill, 73, of the Union Hill Community, Cherokee County, GA, succumbed to cancer and passed away on January 5, 2010. He was born in Perry, Florida, on February 26, 1936, the son of the late John Richmond Terrill and Alta Mae Cope Terrill. Mr. Terrill was employed with AT&T-Lucent in computer engineering for 31 years. His love for and dedication to his work won him company-wide recognition with the "Engineering Achievement Award" in computer programming from AT&T-Lucent in 1981. He was married to Eloise Clark Terrill for 31 years. Along with his wife, Mr. Terrill was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canton.
Mr. Terrill is survived by his wife Eloise Clark Terrill. He is also survived by sisters, Madge Tate and her husband Vincent of Rome, GA, and Marjorie Venable of Adairsville, GA and one brother, Allen Terrill and his wife Dorothy of Adairsville, GA. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Glenn Clark and his wife Gwen of La Fayette, GA. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Terrill and Richmond Terrill and one sister, Clara Terrill.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Darby-Huey Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, Georgia with the Rev. Dr. C. R. Hill, Jr. and Rev. Ed Towers officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery, in Adairsville, GA.
