Raymond Richie Young, age 98, of Shalimar, Florida peacefully passed away in his home July 28th, 2026, surrounded by people who loved him, Danny and Denise Warner. 

He will always be remembered as a kind, quiet, soft spoken, happy soul and a good listener. The love he shared will go on forever with his family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Young, his mother, Opal Anna Adams Young and the love of his life and wife Jewell, also one brother, two sisters, three nephews and one niece. He is survived by his nephews, Junior, David, Ronnie, Robin and Dennis, and niece Linda,18 great nieces and nephews, 23 great-great nieces and nephews, 2 great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Raymond was born in West Virginia in 1928 and had a wonderful childhood with many great stories to share about adventures with his friends, cousins and siblings. He was a Seabee in the Navy in WWII. Then, he worked for a men's clothing store and at one time he was a delivery driver for a furniture retail store. Later he worked thirty-five years and retired from Ford Ohio Assembly Plant in Lorain, which closed in 2005.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you plant a tree or donate to the American Heart Association. A funeral service will be held on August 14th, 2026, at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia. Viewing 10-11:30am, service at 11:30am, internment at Georgia National Cemetery.
