Obituary

Renell LaFaye Berry, age 70 was granted her wings on Monday, April 29, 2019 at her home in Waleska, Georgia.
Renell LaFaye Jackson was born the eldest of three daughters and one son, on January 7th, 1949, in Pensacola, Florida, to surviving parent Maggie Jackson.
She was a child of a military soldier, and attended high school at Havre de Grace High, in Havre de Grace, Maryland where she and her family were stationed. After graduating high school in 1967, she then moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to continued her education at the Community College of Philadelphia, where she pursued a degree in Sociology. She later went on to Cosmetology School to become a hairdresser, fulfilling a passion she had to do hair, and own and operate her business for many years. She would later in years meet her best friend and husband, Geoffrey A. Berry. They happily were together and married for 25 years on September 20, 1994.
She was an advocate for reading and encouraged everyone to read. Especially fond of James Patterson's novels, she spent her leisure time sipping tea and reading her books. She had a very kind heart, giving to all, but best known for wearing high-heels and red lipstick, hosting many social events thrown for her family and friends, whom she loved very much, touching the lives of many people with compassion, humor, and generosity.
Building a life full of love, laughter and friendship the couple relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where they have been now for over 20 years. Since becoming ill, Renell's husband has spent more than a decade of being a sole providing care-giver to her, up until the day she was given her wings to fly above us from God.
Renell is survived by her husband and best friend Geoffrey (Poppy); daughter, Trina Purdy-Gilbert (James Jr.); Hoschton, GA sons Edward Marshall Hamilton III, Jonathan Aaron Hamilton (Natalie); Coatesville, PA., loving grandchildren, Jalen, Jaden, and Janiah; Great Grand-son, Jace; mother, Maggie Jackson; Two Sisters, Barbara (deceased), Shirley; Brother, Larry; Pensacola, FL., Parent In-Law, Ronald and Barbara Rhodes; Rome, NY., Sister In-Law, Karen Berry; Philadelphia, PA, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, great nieces, cousins, adopted daughters and friends.
