Richard "Rick" Brian Womack, age 61, of Woodstock, Georgia, peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord on September 2, 2024.
Born in Atlanta on April 18, 1963, Rick attended Wheeler High School and went on to build a distinguished career spanning three decades as a Director of Operations in Logistics. Later, he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit as the co-owner of Bright Day Moving in Woodstock, where he had the pleasure of working alongside his son, Christopher Womack.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Harry Womack Sr., and his mother, Ramona Womack. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 28 years, Wendy Womack; his son, Christopher Womack; and his daughter, Lauren Womack. Rick is also survived by his brothers, Harry Womack Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, and Ronnie Womack and his wife, Ida; his sisters, Diana Hammond and Deborah Womack; his mother-in-law, Darlene Pittman; and a host of cherished friends.
Rick was a dedicated husband and father, deeply involved in the lives of his children. He took immense pride in watching Lauren excel as a cheerleader and was overjoyed when she followed in her mother's footsteps to become a registered nurse. Rick also relished the opportunity to watch Christopher play sports and was proud of his son's growth as an entrepreneur in their family business.
Rick found great joy in tending to the backyard oasis he created for his family, where he was often found grilling steaks for his loved ones, including his beloved golden doodles, Louie and Tucker. He had a passion for spending time on the lake, taking family and friends out on boat rides and wakeboarding. Rick's warmth, kindness, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:00am. A memorial service will be held in the Darby Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
