Richard Keith Marion, 79 of Canton, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022, at Northside Cherokee Hospital. A memorial service will be Friday, July 8th at 11am at Canton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Kenny Ott officiating. Richard was born in North Bend, Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Forest Products. During his career he worked in wood product sales and insurance. After he retired, he enjoyed spending time with family, playing golf, and was actively involved in Canton First UMC. He is survived by:
Mother - Gladys Amundson of Gresham, OR.
Son - Justin Marion of Canton, GA.
Daughter - Tiffany (Tom) Ellefson of Indianapolis, IN.
Stepson - Todd (Laurie) Merriss of Easley, SC.
Stepdaughter - Kelly (Michael) Luedtke of Charlotte, NC.
Grandchildren - Tristin Marion, Tripp Marion, Sam Ellefson, Morgan Ellefson, Jackson Merriss, Caden Merriss, Caleb Holden, Josh Holden, Liam Luedtke, O'Malley Luedtke, Declan Luedtke, Cannon Luedtke, Paxton Merriss, and Bo Merriss.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
