Robert Allen “Bobby” McTyre
May 16, 1947 – June 5, 2026
Bobby McTyre, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 5, 2026, in Beverly Hills, Florida, at the age of 79. Born on May 16, 1947, in Marietta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Robert S. McTyre and Verdie Mae (Palmer) Sommerville.
Bobby was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He co-founded Marietta Automatic Sprinkler Company, where he dedicated his professional life before retiring to spend his days doing what he loved most.
A devoted fan of his alma mater, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs — and he made sure everyone around him knew that another National Championship was always right around the corner. Whether supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events and activities, traveling with family, or simply celebrating life’s events, Bobby was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. His warmth, laughter, and generosity were gifts he gave freely to all who knew him.
An adventurous soul at heart, he had a deep love for travel and exploration. Bobby enjoyed skiing the slopes of Colorado, scuba diving in the Cayman Islands, bicycling down Haleakala in Maui, and hiking the Camino de Santiago across the Pyrenees from France to Spain. He and Pam also cherished their many cruises through Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean — and along the way, he became an Honorary Viking Thor among Pam’s Norwegian classmates.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Pam (McKaig) McTyre; his sons, Russ McTyre (Sherri) and Matt McTyre (Kathy); his stepdaughter, Lisa French (Jimmy); his stepson, Jason Kisz (Amy); and nine cherished grandchildren: Ellie French, Jake McTyre, Lane McTyre, Kate McTyre, Mallory McTyre, JC French, Kylie Kisz, Kade Kisz, and Kolton Kisz.
