Obituary

Robert B. Buzogany, lovingly known as “Uncle Bob” to many and “The Kid” to those closest to him, passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 49, just days shy of his 50th birthday. Born on May 11, 1976, Bob lived a life marked by humor, curiosity, generosity, and deep devotion to the people he loved.

Though Bob was raised and confirmed in the Catholic faith, he was not a practicing Catholic; still, he carried his faith quietly and sincerely throughout his life. A true Renaissance man, Bob’s curiosity, talents, and wide-ranging interests made the term especially fitting for him. He is survived by his devoted siblings, Michael Alan Buzogany (wife Kelly Oster) and Becky Buzogany (husband Tom Hockin), along with his beloved nieces and nephews Michaela, Melina, Max, Leah, Tommy, Jakob, and Adam. He also leaves behind his loyal and cherished companion, his dog Clarence. Bob was preceded in passing by loved family members and is now reunited with those he held dear.

Above all, Bob was a devoted son to Bob and Sue, sharing a bond of deep love, respect, and lifelong connection. His family meant everything to him, and he carried them with him in every chapter of his life.

Bob was loved immensely by friends across the country, from his lifelong connections at the University of Dayton to his extended MillerCoors and SC Johnson families. He had a rare gift for bringing people together—whether through laughter, storytelling, or simply showing up with warmth and presence.

Known for his sharp wit, sarcasm, and magnetic charisma, Bob had a way of making every room feel lighter. He was everyone’s favorite “Uncle Bob,” the one who made gatherings more fun, conversations more alive, and memories more meaningful.

He had a deep love for travel and adventure, exploring the world from Europe and China to Mexico and beyond. Hawaii—and especially Kauai—held a special place in his heart. He was always planning the next trip, the next experience, the next story to tell. A long-awaited birthday trip to New Orleans was among his dreams still ahead.

Bob was an avid golfer, taking annual trips across the country and finding joy in the game and the friendships around it. He loved skiing adventures with his brother, nephew Jakob, and brother-in-law Tom. He also had a lifelong appreciation for fishing in Chagrin Falls, Ohio during his younger years.

At home, Bob was an engineer-minded builder and restorer, always working on something, always improving something. He loved cooking—grilling, smoking, and hosting friends and family with effortless hospitality. His home in Wauwatosa was filled with laughter, music, and the comfort of shared meals and stories. His neighbors there adored him and the community he helped create.

A lover of music, Bob found joy in bluegrass, jam bands, and classic rock and roll. He also enjoyed a good lager, good company, and good conversation. Gardening—an interest inspired by his mother—brought him peace, as did time spent outdoors and exploring new ideas.

Bob was an explorer in every sense of the word—of places, of projects, of people, and of life itself. He will be remembered for his big heart, his adventurous spirit, his quick humor, and the way he made people feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

From his family—Michael, Becky, Kelly, Tom, and all his nieces and nephews—he will be missed beyond words. They take comfort in knowing he was called home to Heaven, where he is believed to be reunited with loved ones, and to continue watching over those he left behind with the same love he gave so freely in life.

Rest in peace, Uncle Bob. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.

From Becky/Mike and the entire family, he will be missed dearly. He was asked by God into Heaven sooner than we would have liked, but he was needed to help Mom transition.

A joint Memorial Service celebrating the life of Bob and his mother, Susan, will be held at 12:30PM Thursday May 14, 2026, from the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery with Father Mark Starr officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service beginning at 11:30AM.
