Ronald Timothy "Tim" Lumpkin of Ball Ground, GA, loving husband, father, son, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at home after a brave three year battle with cancer. His family and friends surrounded him in his last days. Tim was the son of J.J. and Floetta Lumpkin of Ball Ground. He is a graduate of Cherokee High School class of 1972. He also attended Piedmont College. Tim worked as a production mechanic for over 30 years. He was employed by Boyle-Midway in Chamblee, GA, Piedmont Laboratories in Cumming, GA and Centennial Farms Dairy/Kroger in Atlanta, GA until 2008. He enjoyed camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. Tim is survived by his wife Susan Ramsey Lumpkin, his children Britton Cody Lumpkin, Zachary Ray Lumpkin, Zoe Autumn Lumpkin, and Zana Katherine Lumpkin. He is also survived by his older brother Jeff Lumpkin of Kyles Ford, TN and his twin brother Robert Thomas "Tom" Lumpkin also of Ball Ground. He is survived by his niece, Sarah Lumpkin Wyatt and his great-nephew Wallace Austin Wyatt of Greeneville, NC and nephew Jon Denney Lumpkin of Canton, GA. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home, 480 E. Main Street, Canton, GA on Wednesday March 9, 2011 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. A celebration of his life service will be held on Thursday March 10, 2011 at Cool Springs Baptist Church in Tate, GA at 2:00 pm. . This foundation raises awareness and research funds for the children's cancer research. Jacob is a friend of Tim's daughter Zana who were both born with Down syndrome. Jacob is battling leukemia at this time and touched Tim's heart. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
