Rosalena Hernandez, 61, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Northside Hospital Cherokee, surrounded by her loving family and coworkers. Born on October 7, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York to Hector and Illia LaBoy Plaza, Rosalena was a vibrant soul who brightened the lives of everyone around her.

Rosalena worked as the Lead Financial Advisor at Northside Hospital Cherokee, where she was not only known for her expertise but also for her kindness and generosity. Friends and colleagues alike describe her as funny, loving, giving, inspiring, and a true ray of sunshine. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering support made a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Rosalena cherished her family. She is survived by her daughters, Tiffany Johnson and Kimberly Hernandez, both of Canton, Georgia; her grandchildren, Michael Mills, Lylan Johnson, Enalicia Rose Foster, Geraldine Johnson, Amyah Michelle Rose Foster, and Colt Luis Johnson; her brothers, William Plaza of Florida and Librado Plaza of Canton, Georgia; her sister, Maribel Esawy of Canton, Georgia; and many other relatives and friends who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home, where there will be a celebrate Rosalena's life and the love she shared with all of us. Chaplain Romanzia Saunders will officiate.

Her legacy of love, laughter, and light will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
