Rosalyn Katherine Maddox Oglesby (Bootsie ), age 84, formerly of Greensboro, NC, died March 31, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Woodstock, GA. Bootsie was born on January 26, 1927 in Marietta, Ga, to Anderson Leroy Maddox and Dorothy Lewis Maddox. She was a graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1943. She attended Wesleyan College and the University of Virginia. A memorial service will be held at St.Jjohn's Anglican Church On West Friendly Avenue in Greensboro, NC, on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 1:00 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John's Anglican Church of Greensboro or Compassionate Hospice of North Georgia. Bootsie was the loving wife for 65 years of Nicholas Perkins Oglesby, formerly of Greensboro, NC. they were most recently residents of Abbotswood at Iirving Park. Bootsie was an avid and talented card player, enjoyed needlework, and volunteered for over 20 years at moses cone hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church in Greensboro. In her later years, Bootsie delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as often as possible. she was predeceased by her son Nicholas Anderson (Andy) Oglesby and her grandson, Nicholas (Nick) Perkins Dupre. She is survived by her three daughters, Katherine Bouman, of Columbia, SC, Elizabeth Decker (Fred) of Woodstock, GA and Leslie Pipan (Greg) of Greensboro, NC. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren, Marcy Mathias Dupre', (Marc) of Colorado and Benjamin Geddy Dupre' (Ben) , of Georgia, Robert Jeffery Ellison,(Jeff) of Pennsylvania, Emily Anne Cole (Mike) of North Carolina, Mary Mcintyre, whose husband (Marshall) is currently in service of the U.S. Air Force in Korea. There are also eight Great Grandchildren, Jayson, Jared, and joshua dupre', Avery Ellison, Taylor Anne, Anderson Cole, Maddox and Maverick McIntyre. Bootsie's family would like to thank rose hill and her staff, and the staff at abbottswood, both of Greensboro, NC, as well as compassionate hospice of north georgia for their kind and loving care.
