Sammie Henderson Lathem, age 82 of Canton, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Windsor House. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Sunday, March 8th from 1-3pm. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 3pm with Bishop Lance Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Lathem worked at Westinghouse. She also worked at Cherokee Federal Bank in administration. She was known for her shorthand and her ability to type 100 words per minute. She volunteered for Meal-On-Wheels. Mrs. Lathem was also an A Level tennis player and very active in ALTA.
She is survived by:
Daughter - Sherry (Fulton) Kuykendall of Woodstock
Daughter - Holly (Neal) Brasfield of Canton
Daughter - Misty (Brian) Groves of Canton
Sister - Dot Green of Lake Pointe, AL.
Grandchildren - Trent Kuykendall, Alexandra Haynes, Victoria Sheffield, Graham Sheffield, and Weston Sheffield
Three great-grandchildren also survive.
